Old Dominion Aquatic Club (ODAC) is celebrating many remarkable achievements this short course season as swimmers of all ages have been breaking team records, with some of the records standing for over a decade. These stellar performances highlight the exceptional talent and dedication within the team, showcasing swimmers ranging from young prodigies to seasoned veterans.


ODAC’s swimmers have consistently exceeded expectations, with many surpassing long-standing records that had remained untouched for years. These achievements reflect the hard work, discipline, and teamwork instilled by ODAC’s coaching staff.


From rising stars in the Super Squad developmental groups to accomplished athletes in the Senior Swimming Groups, the diversity in age highlights the club's commitment to developing swimmers at all stages. As the club continues to build on its success, these achievements showcase the hard work, discipline, and teamwork fostered by ODAC’s coaching staff, while also highlighting the fun and joy our kids experience along the way.


The club’s unwavering focus on technique, training, and sportsmanship is clearly paying off, and swimmers can expect even greater things to come as the season progresses. With the recent string of record-breaking swims, it’s clear that the Old Dominion Aquatic Club remains a powerhouse in the swimming community.



ODAC Records Broken from this Short Course Session (24-25), updated as of mid season championship meets (12/31/24):



8 year old Nate Sallee at the December CGBD Christmas Champs Meet held in Hampton, Virginia smoked 3 new team records. He started the weekend off with back to back 3 year old records in the 25 Yard Freestyle and 50 Yard Freestyle with 15.98 and 35.43 respectively. These 2021 records were 16.69 and 38.75 held by his older cousin Adam Stewart who is still an ODAC swimmer currently in the 11-12 year old group. Nate also swiped a record from last short course season in the 50 yard breast with a 49.29. The 2024 record was previously 51.47 held by Finn Riley who is still an ODAC Swimmer in the 9-10 year old group.


Anna Swartzbaugh breaks the 11-12 year old girls ODAC Team Record in 200 yard Breastroke.


12 year old Anna Swartzbaugh, at the December CGBD Christmas Champs Meet held at the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex in Hampton, Virginia crushed a record from last short course season with a 2:39.79 in her 200 yard Breastroke. The 2024 record was previously 2:40.66 held by Brooke Heustis who is still an ODAC swimmer currently in the Senior 2 group.







12 year old Sophia Hallman, at the December CGBD Christmas Champs Meet in Hampton, Virginia zoomed through a 17 year old 200 yard Backstroke record with a 2:10.90. The previous record was 2:12.87 held by Emily Plowman.









14 year old Nick Dees started off the East Coast Winterfest swim meet in Richmond with shattering a 14 year old ODAC Record in the 1000 yard freestyle with an incredible 9:50.37. The previous record from 2010 was 9:53.04 held by James Balderston.





14 year old Karter Wachs also had a great weekend at the December East Coast Winterfest Swim Meet in Richmond, Virginia overtaking two ODAC Records. A 5 year old 500 yard Freestyle record with a 4:44.77. The previous 2019 record was 4:46.77 held by Mattie Oberley, who's currently a D2 swimmer in his Junior Year at Colorodo School of Mines. The second record of the weekend was a 14 year old record in the 1650 yard Freestyle with a 16:24.21. The previous record from 2010 was 16:33.69 held by James Balderston.


17 year old Zachary McNabb notched two ODAC records at the December East Coast Winterfest Swim Meet in Richmond, Virginia as well. Started off with an 11 year old 1,000 yard Freestyle record clocking in at 9:21.48. The previous 2013 record was 9:25.29 held by Logan Burton. This extraordinary time was not only a record breaker but also a new Winter Juniors Qualifying time. Then Zach ended the weekend breaking a 6 year old record in the 1,650 yard Freestyle with a 15:43.23. That 2018 ODAC team record was 15:45.49 held by Blake Johnson who is currently a D1 swimmer in his senior year at Duke University.


17 year old Gabe Nunziata improved upon 4 records at the 2024 Winter Junior Nationals held in Greensboro, North Carolina that he already held himself. The 100 Yard Breastroke, 200 Yard Breastroke, 200 Yard IM and 400 Yard IM.
